You may have noticed that my posts are all over the place. One day it's nutrition, then I'm talking about living on a boat, the next day I'm telling you about some travel experience, then mindset, self love, and movement. Maybe you are confused and have no idea what the hell I'm trying to convey, what to expect or whether to even keep reading.
As I work on designing a life and a business that I love and that aligns with my values I've realized how 'bad' that is.
I should be more focused on one thing. I'm supposed to pick one and really target that audience only.
Unfortunately just like getting a job where I'm tied down, or signing a lease makes me feel claustrophobic so does narrowing my point of focus to that extreme. It feels like being put in a box, but I don't want that box to exist, let alone be put into it.
From most coaches, programs, books, and experts I here what I should do is really narrow my focus to make it as a successful business. They may be right, but the feeling it brings with it doesn't feel right.
Let me be straight with you. I don't want to just write about nutrition, or digestion, or sugar, or diets, or exercise, or yoga, or hormones OR travel because I see them as all connected. All important parts of creating your optimal life and self. My aim is to introduce different aspects of healing, well being, and finding your happiness. To share with you my journey and to build a community. A community of people who aren't afraid of vulnerability and brutal honesty.
I struggle with writing things that only tell people what to do and not why. I realize most people don't give a shit as to why, they just want answers and something quick dammit. In order to truly fix something though we must first know how it works. We must understand function before we can fix dysfunction. Plus why is the interesting part.
Not everyone is going to be passionate about nutrition or yoga, I understand that. I'm not passionate about photography or web design but I value those with the knowledge and passion for them.
What I want you to be passionate about is YOUR LIFE, YOUR HAPPINESS and YOUR HEALTH.
Knowing the basics about how your body works is not crazy, it should be mandatory. Exploring your deepest fears and desires is not too much, it's essential. Learning to move your body in intelligent ways doesn't mean you have to want to become a personal trainer, it just means you want to live a healthful life. Questioning the world around you does not mean you have to be passionate about philosophy or sociology, it just means you care about the world you live in.
What I want to introduce is a holistic and integrative way to look at health, to look at life even. To discuss the things that we should have been taught in school, by our culture or community but somehow it got skipped over in order to produce better test grades, ill health that makes us reliant on prescription drugs and too many unsatisfied people.
So you may get what seems like posts that are all over the place, but that's only because in our current model of health we separate everything. We have specialist for each part. The truth is everything is connected, closely connected. It's nearly impossible to try to solve one piece of the puzzle without consideration for the sum of your parts. Not only is each of your body's physical systems connected, but your mental and emotional health and your lifestyle are connected to your physical health and vice versa.
Yeah, that shit is complicated. We'll just take it one day at a time though. Stay tuned because you never know what you will get from me! I like to keep it interesting.
Thanks for coming along this journey with me. I'm thrilled to have you as part of my tribe on this crazy ride of life.
PS. If you love the idea of doing business outside the box and want to explore it more I highly recommend The Revolutionary Living Institute. Not only do they have a beautiful community of revolutionaries but they offer support and great coaching. (and no they are not paying me to say this, I just like to give a shout out to people who are doing life different)
